This showcase event features local songwriters performing their own music live.
I’ll start out at 6:00 with a set of my songs.
Then we will hear from our featured songwriters:
Don Srebro
Don writes inventive songs of relationships, love and stories about life. Don uses his fine tenor voice and lively guitar style to tell his engaging stories. He also has some great new songs to add to his songbook which he will be sharing with us at this event. Don’s new songs are taking some departures from his earlier work and makes for quite a variety of styles and subject matter within his sets.
Michael Wallace Michael writes beautiful songs of tribute, love and humor. He has plenty of fun, bluesy tunes as well. He has an energetic style all while playing harmonica and guitar in the traditional folk genre. You can talk to Michael about getting a copy of his CD/album “Cobblestone Wine”.
Robert Lawrence
Robert Lawrence is lead singer and guitarist for the band “The Wild & Hungry,” Robert grew up with music all around him and continues to do everything in his power to keep that music flowing. Whether he is creating it or enjoying it. The power of sound, the power of music, has not been lost on him and Robert strives to share it with as many people as possible.
It wasn’t until Robert was in high school that he really started playing an instrument, starting with the bass guitar. Playing in punk & rock bands with his friends throughout high school & college, it wasn’t until they all disbanded and he picked up the guitar that he found the music of “The Wild & Hungry” within himself.
While leaning on his punk rock roots he also started embracing the singer songwriter style associated with folk music. Heavily influenced by artists such as Thrice & Dustin Kensrue, The Lumineers, Lord Huron, Johnny Cash, Jack White, and countless others. If you listen closely, you can hear bits and pieces of them throughout his work. Robert Lawrence has been performing for over 20 years and looks forward to another 20 more.
