Dandelions Rising: Leadership & Liberation for BIPOC Youth and Families

Dandelions Rising is back for a second year of empowering BIPOC youth and their families through opportunities for healing and understanding liberation.

Join us for the Fall series of Dandelions Rising: Leadership and Liberation, a transformative program dedicated to empowering BIPOC youth through activities centered on identity, belonging, and intersectionality, while parents engage in meaningful discussions on the same issues.


Event Details

Location: Cultural Enrichment Center
Time: 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Dates:

  • March 9th - Colorism + Self-Portrait Night for Youth
  • March 30th - Mixed/Multiple Identities
  • April 13th - Career Exploration Day featuring local BIPOC professionals
  • April 27th - Self-Empowerment (youth)/Diminished Empathy BIPOC Youth (adult)
  • May 4th - Field Day
  • May 18th - End of Year Celebration



Program Highlights
  • Youth Activities: BIPOC youth will participate in engaging sessions that focus on leadership, liberation, identity, belonging, and intersectionality.
  • Parent Discussions: While the youth are in session, parents will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about the same topics, fostering a supportive community environment.
  • Family-Style Dinner: After each session, enjoy a communal meal with other families, strengthening community bonds.
  • Childcare: Provided for children under 7, ensuring that parents and older children can fully participate.

About Dandelions Rising

Dandelions Rising was created by BIPOC parents to support both our children and fellow parents in navigating the challenges we face as Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color living in northern Colorado. Our program is designed to build young leaders of color, fostering resilience and community connections.


Registration

Participation in the fall semester is free, but space is limited. Only one registration is required per family.
