Mothra Shadow Work presents "Dancing with Your Inner Child" event!
We invite you to join us in connecting and dancing with your inner child.
DATE: Friday January 23rd, 2026
LOCATION: Studio G, 126 James St N (upstairs!)
DRESS CODE: Dress as your inner child or in whatever makes your inner child feel most joyful!
NOTE: Tickets can also be purchased via etransfer of the exact base ticket amount ($35, $44 or $50) to [email protected] to avoid fees! If the ticket price is out of reach, send us an email and we can discuss ways to make it affordable or offer an energy exchange.
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic dance is a form of moving self expression that focusses on your inner state, inviting you to become more connected with how you feel moving in your body. It is a space of non judgement and non attachment, meaning you are dancing for yourself and in ways that meet your needs or desires as they arise, without needing the validation of someone or something outside of you. It is not a partner dance or has any specific moves.
Set to a musical arc that ranges significantly in speed and genre, ecstatic dance takes you on a journey up and down toward deepening your relationship with yourself. You can sit mindfully on the side, you can dance eyes closed like no one is watching, you can watch yourself dance in the mirror, you can roll around on the floor like an animal... the space is yours.

7:00 PM - DOORS OPEN
7:30 PM - OPENING PLAY EXERCISE
8:00 PM - CACAO CEREMONY
8:15 PM - INNER CHILD MEDITATION (and throughout set)
8:30 PM - ECSTATIC DANCE SET BY @ DJ MR. JOYFUL — including Live instrumentation by Qu and talented pianist Fabien.
11:00 PM - HEALING SOUND JOURNEY BY MOTHRA SHADOW WORK
11:30 PM - INTEGRATION CIRCLE

We encourage you to bring out younger and older folks who want to experience a fun and playful experience.
THIS EVENT IS CONSCIOUSLY SOBER
We encourage a sober space in order to keep us present with how we are feeling in the room and in our bodies.
CACAO RITUAL
Cacao is a sacred medicine that has NO mind altering/psychedelic affects and is SAFE for most to consume. It is like hot chocolate, but made with ceremonial grade cacao that respects the land, the people that produced it, and your own body. The Ritual is performed to open your heart to new experiences, yourself, and others. It is an invitation to participate as a way to help set your intention for the evening.
SOUND BATH
The night will close with a luscious sound bath by the team at Mothra Shadow Work. Soothing tones from crystal bowls, drums, vocals, gongs, chimes and the harp will bring your nervous system back down and ground you back into your body to re-enter the world. We highly recommend and encourage you stay for this part of the night.
