In Slavic folklore Baba Yaga is the wild and wise trickster archetype who encourages transformation through a series of initiations. She lives in a hut on live chicken legs that are perpetually moving from one place to another throughout the forest. She completely embodies the mystery of uncertainty. Many of us have been raised on the assumption that certainty is our birthright Buddhist Nun Pema Chodron sums it up succinctly "If you're invested in security and certainty you are on the wrong planet. The root of suffering is resisting the certainty that no matter what the circumstances uncertainty is all we truly have." The Earth and the plants are our best teachers. They know that life is never static... it is always changing and evolving.
