PARADE + PARTY + PROTECT + PARK LANDSOur home was never just houses!
Come celebrate our shared home with (and as) birds, trees, and bugs.
For this event, we will parade across Mirnu Wirra/Golden Wattle Park, then dance to protect the park and the living world we all share. The event will be orchestrated to gradually fall into silence just after dusk.
We will then depart in the dark after 10 minutes of silence.
The Parade will cover paved and grassy terrain, and will end in a stand of Pine Trees adjacent to the Bicentennial Plaque (see number 5 on this map: https://www.adelaide-parklands.asn.au/park-21w-tour/#five )
The event is free, but ticketed. If you follow the ticket link, you will see an opportunity to donate to the Adelaide Parklands Association.

About Dancing Monsters:
Dancing Monsters is a community and practice that works with themes of connection/protection (and implicitly potential loss of connection/habitat) with an emphasis on the joyful, the strange and the festive.
Culturally, Monsters can function as home/place/community protection symbols (halloween/gargoyles are Celtic/European examples of this), as well as the means by which humans can extend into non-human forms, playfully subverting anthropocentric ways of being to imagine and identify with places and their other inhabitants.
