EcoSangha Workshop: Dancing in a Circle- The Environmental Buddhism of Nobuko Miyamoto
“Dancing in a Circle” will bring to life many of the stories in Nobuko Miyamoto’s memoir "Not Yo’ Butterfly" with an opportunity to dialogue with her as she “talks story.”
Rev. Don Castro will introduce the program with a short chanting invocation, explanation of the Buddhist meaning of “mottainai” and introduction of Nobuko. Bon odori dancing including Nobuko’s “Mottainai” and “Kangie” will be presented for all to join and dance in a circle at the conclusion.
Donations from this event will go to Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple to support ongoing educational programs.
The event is free but registration is required.
