This month’s Dancing Freedom theme is Spring Festival — a joyful celebration of the key elements of Spring and festival culture:

Festival culture has been part of the human experience for thousands of years — emerging from communal gatherings where people came together to mark seasonal changes, honour important moments, and celebrate through music, food, movement, and shared joy.
🌱 This is a drug- and alcohol-free event.
I’ll also be celebrating my birthday on the night and would love to share that moment with you! 🎉
🎨 Dress code: COLOUR!
Optional — but highly encouraged! Come dressed in your brightest, most playful colours and express your unique self.
🥗 Feel free to bring a plate or some snacks to share for after the dance. Tea provided.
🕒 Time:
The warm-up / first wave of music begins at 6:30 PM — arrive early to drop in and ease into the space.
We’ll circle up at 7:00 PM to begin our main dance journey together.
💸 Exchange: $20–$35 (sliding scale)

🎁 All proceeds on the night will be donated to Trust for Nature — a Victorian charity that protects native plants and wildlife by helping landowners permanently protect important bushland on private land. They use something called conservation covenants — voluntary legal agreements placed on a property title to ensure the land is protected forever, even if it’s sold in the future. It’s a powerful, lasting way to care for nature that already exists.

**WE DANCE LAST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH**
Class Breakdown
We start with a warm-up and opening circle, then move through an elemental wave of earth, water, fire, air, and ether. After dancing, we’ll integrate the experience and share in a closing circle. Followed by tea and chats.

I’m Sage, a passionate music and dance enthusiast with 15 years of experience in the festival and ecstatic dance scene. As a Dancing Freedom facilitator, my aim is to create safe, joyful spaces for people to connect, feel, and express their authentic selves. With a background in nursing and trauma care, I’m dedicated to holding space where healing and freedom can unfold.
