The Dancing & Drinking Society (or DADS for short), is New Zealand’s premier exponent of authentic 1920s dance Jazz. Rags, Rambles, Shuffles, Drags and Blues that our great grandparents would have shimmied to in the juke joints, speakeasies, woolsheds and Memorial Halls of 1920s New Zealand. With a mere four members, it has the impact of a full Syncopating-Orchestra, with multiple instruments being played simultaneously.• Oscar Laven: Saxophone - effervescence and stylish attire. Has his own quartet in Wellington.
• Mat ‘Mon Colonel’ Enright: Trumpet, Resonator Guitar, Vocals, also with Newtown Rocksteady.
• Adrian ‘AJ’ Jensen: Gypsy Guitar, Bass Drum - Black Spider Stomp and The Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band in 2011. Started The DADs with Mat.
• Daniel ‘Pappy’ Yeabsley: Tuba, Hi-Hat - Twinset, The Black Seeds, and Fat Freddys Drop.
