COMPLETE THESE TWO STEPS TO REGISTER:
1. Complete your Dancer Registration Form online by/before June 20 at 5PM http://danceworksnewyorkcity.com/registration/
2. Pay $50 Dancer Registration Fee online (or cash will be accepted in person at auditions on Jan 4. No checks). http://danceworksnewyorkcity.com/registration/
*IMPORTANT* your audition number will be pre-assigned to make check-in faster. The registration deadline of January 2 is firm to make this process smooth. You will receive a confirmation email the day prior to dancer auditions with which line to stand in to pick up your Audition Number. Registration will take place on the 4th floor of Jeffrey Dance Center. Have your photo ID ready to allow our volunteers to easily find your name & get your audition number and headshot.
THE EARLIER YOU REGISTER - THE BETTER!
AUDITION DAY FORMAT:
Wear casual dance clothes (tanks, tees, tights, sweatpants...whatever you feel comfortable in). Bring dance appropriate shoes or dance bare foot - NO shoes or boots that scuff the dance floor will be allowable on the floors. Please also bring a pen, water bottle, snacks, and proof of vaccination.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
8:00am - Choreographers Meeting
9:00am - Dancers Arrive
9:00-9:30am - AUDITION NUMBER DISTRIBUTION & HEADSHOT- Dancers will check in at the Registration table and receive their audition number and take a head shot at this time.
9:30-11:30am - CHOREOGRAPHER SHOWCASE
11:30-12:15pm - TAP AUDITION
12:15-3:15pm – CONTEMPORARY / JAZZ AUDITION
3:15-6:00pm – HIP HOP AUDITION
6:00-6:30pm - Hand in Forms & Pack Up
*AUDITION FORMAT*
A few counts of 8 will be taught for each style of dance. You will then perform this choreography in small groups for the choreographers of that style. Before each small group auditions, a day/choreographers name will be stated. If you’d like to audition for that day of dance, you will raise your hand. Then your group will perform the combo you were just taught. Each choreographer will have the option of running one item specific to their piece across the floor to showcase a specific skill: turns, leaps, style, performance. The choreographers teaching the combinations will be announced at auditions.
CANNOT ATTEND AUDITIONS?
If you cannot attend Dancer Auditions but would still like to be considered, you must email [email protected] latest by Saturday, June 21 (the week prior to auditions). Please include the following in your email:
- your previous dance training & experience;
- include links to videos of previous dance performances you've been featured in
- the director will email you back with a video audition number and instructions to complete an electronic Dancer Audition Form which indicates which piece(s) you would like to audition for. VIDEO AUDITIONERS: please submit and complete your electronic Dancer Audition Form ASAP, and LATEST by June 21!

Rehearsals start: Monday, July 7, 2025

Rehearsals end: Thursday, October 23, 2025
Tech Rehearsal: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, October 25, 2025
Show Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025 (4:00pm & 8:00pm shows)
