About this Event
KARUL Projects, the acclaimed Australian Indigenous contemporary dance company, will be conducting a workshop during the Pacific Dance NZ Festival season in Auckland, in June. The workshop is open to dance students, artists , choreographers and promises to be a unique and inspiring experience.
Led by KARUL Project's artistic director Thomas E.S. Kelly, who is a descendant of the Wiradjuri Nation and an experienced performer and choreographer, the workshop will explore the intersection of traditional Indigenous dance practices and contemporary movement styles. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Kelly and to develop their own skills and understanding of Indigenous dance and culture.
The workshop is part of Pacific Dance NZ's commitment to cultural integrity, authenticity, and innovation, and is sure to challenge participants to think critically about the role of Indigenous culture in contemporary society.
If you're interested and want to be part of this exciting opportunity, we invite you to join us at the Pacific Dance NZ Festival season in Auckland this June.
