Axton Green began his dance training at the age of five with Andriette Roux. He later honed his skills at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA), where he trained for three years under ballet mistress Daniella di Lorenzo. Axton joined Cape Town City Ballet in 2020 and currently holds the rank of Leading Artist. Notable roles include Escamillo in Veronica Paepers’ Carmen and both Charles and Dickens in Paepers' A Christmas Carol. Earlier this year marked his debut in this principal role and he is thrilled to be dancing the Act II Franz variation from Coppélia, a role for which he was coached by Qi Huang. He has also had the privilege of working with acclaimed choreographers such as David Nixon and Kenneth Tyndall in a more neo-classical context.
