Join us for our inaugural season of Dance Uprising Junior Company!
Dance Uprising Junior Co. is for dancers ages 14-18, who are interested in a concert dance experience. This is a great opportunity for dancers with years of experience or for those who are new to studio dance!
What are you auditioning for?
MENTORSHIP
Dance Uprising is in its 6th season with highly skilled, professional dancers. These dancers, who are educators as well as movement artists, will teach technique classes, run repertory rehearsals, and lead Junior Co. dancers in collaborative choreography making.
PERFORMANCES
Participating dancers will have the opportunity to perform in several Dance Uprising productions throughout our season, including:
* Artists’ Showcase in December
* National Choreography Month beginning in January
* Dance Uprising spring showcase
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES MAY INCLUDE:
* Oakland Dance Festival
* RADFest
* Detroit Dance City Festival, and more
Dance Uprising Junior Co. is led by Assistant Director / Youth Program Coordinator Nicole Heikkilä-Popkin. Nicole has been with Dance Uprising for 3 years!
Dance Uprising is directed by Amy Cadwallader (MFA), with a focus on providing paid, professional opportunities for dancers in the Ann Arbor-Detroit region. We work collaboratively to create unique dance pieces that speak to our human experiences, which have been performed in cities around Southeast Michigan, as well as in Indiana and Kentucky.
