Atlantic Gallery is pleased to present Dance the Distance an exhibition featuring the work of Anne Berlit and Michele Foyer.
Both artists explore layering and a poetic interplay of light color and reflection to create depth and distance. The translucent smooth surfaces of Berlit’s acrylic-on-plexiglass paintings contrast with Foyer’s opaque textured painted-paper collages engaging in a visual dialogue that unfolds within and between their works. Their art extends beyond traditional boundaries incorporating the surrounding space and inviting viewers to actively engage in its perception.
Berlit is a German artist based in Essen who studied Free Graphics and Sculpture at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (1992 – 1999) becoming a master student of David Rabinowitch (1998) and earning the Akademiebrief (1999). Her work is included in notable collections such as the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf the City of Essen and the Sparkasse Gütersloh. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and has received numerous awards. www.anneberlit.de @berlitanne
