Step into a realm where movement and music connects body, mind, and soul. Dance Sanctuary invites you to explore the liberating world of free-form embodied dance for holistic wellness and community. Whether you are a seasoned dancer or simply looking to connect with yourself and others in a new way, we invite you to join in this intimate, candle-lit, meditational, non-alcoholic, and community-building event. This dance night will be facilitated by Alodiah Lunar of Mosaic Dance Circle.

****What to Expect****
* Free-Form Movement: No dance background or training needed; just follow your body’s natural rhythm.
* Ecstatic Beats: Move to an eclectic curated playlist of uplifting, nature-inspired music designed to elevate your soul (downtempo, electronic, organic house, world beats, and more)
* Wellness Focus: Experience the mental and physical health benefits of dance in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
* Meditational Experiences: Symbolic sensory rituals, meditation, poetry and/or song will enhance the somatic journey.
* We will begin and end with a short warm-up/cool-down. Light refreshments will be available throughout our gathering.
* Incense or essential oils may be used in the space, please take note if you are scent sensitive.
* This is an alcohol and substance-free event.
****What to Bring****
* Come dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for a wide range of movement
* Bring socks, or soft-soled dance/indoor shoes (the floor is polished concrete) - you can also dance barefoot if you like!
* A bottle of water to stay hydrated
* A small towel (expect to sweat!)
* An open heart and mind
****Why Dance Sanctuary?****
We seek to build an inclusive, vibrant, dance community in Benicia and surrounding areas! All bodies are welcome, regardless of experience or fitness level. Dancing, especially in community, is a powerful tool for emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. Come as you are and leave feeling rejuvenated, connected, and inspired. We can’t wait to dance with you!
****Facilitator Bio****
Alodiah Lunar (Mosaic Dance Circle Organizer) is a music and dance performer and ritualist influenced by nature, storytelling, visual art, and global movement. She began training in American fusion belly dance in 2005 after moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She has performed with Jill Parker's companies, Miel and Foxglove Sweethearts, and was a founding member of numerous dance collectives such as Carousel Bellydance and See Infinity. Recently, she participated in conceptual projects such as Kami Liddle’s "Yarrow," a nature-infused dance film, and played the role of Gaia in Kaeshi Chai’s "Nature Stories: Art + Science," an environmental multimedia experience. She has performed in major festivals and venues such as the San Francisco Stern Grove Festival, The Harmony Festival, LovEvolution, the Herbst Theater, and has also toured internationally. Inspired by ritual, holistic wellness, and earth-based spirituality, Alodiah is currently building community dance forums like the Benicia-Vallejo Holistic Dance Community and Mosaic Dance Circle, promoting music and dance for healing and positive change.
