Dance Wave presents:DANCE OF THE SUN – A SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
Join us in celebration of the peak of Summer and the longest day of the year with a sacred gathering this Summer Solstice (Litha). An important astronomical event that is acknowledged in almost every culture around the world, marking a time of vitality and expansion as we bask in the life-giving energy of the Sun.
After opening with a cultural offering by Wurundjeri woman Stacie, we will move into a dance invocation by Nicole to light the sacred fire where we will perform an intention-setting ritual to let go of all that has moved through us this Spring and call in our manifestations for the new Summer cycle. Neeko will guide us into our bodies for an extended 2 hour dance journey by Elkemist (joined by Jordan on djembe) to seed our intentions into the Earth. To land the experience we will end on a sound bath by Elkemist, Jordan and Neeko and bring the evening to close with a circle around the fire and social time. Snacks and elixirs by Lil Miss Magic available throughout the experience, bring cash.

TO BRING

TO NOTE
This gathering is a sober-ish celebration and microdosing of plant medicines is welcome, as long as you are able to remain present and contribute to this co-created experience. We kindly request no alcohol or synthetic substances.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Jase Aether / Elkemist is a multi-instrumentalist, hybrid live DJ, facilitator and ceremonialist who has been hosting intentional gatherings for the past 5 years in the mountains of BC, Canada. It was there he also co-founded a weekly ecstatic dance called Dance Wave, hosting over 50 events and gatherings in one year as well as initiating a Men’s circle in service to his local community. As Jase has landed back in his hometown of Melbourne, the time has come to start offering these intentional gatherings with his motherland tribe to help co-create healing, connection, expansion and authentic expression for community once again. Elkemist’s first three Dance Wave events in Melbourne were met with widespread acclaim and either sold out or came close to capacity, and we expect nothing less for this Solstice gathering.

This sacred gathering is held on the stolen land of the sovereign Wurundjeri people. Dance Wave recognise that we have benefited from colonialism to the detriment of First Nations people, and acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the wisdom-keepers of the waters, trees, lands and animals, and it is our intention with this acknowledgement to help heal the connection between all beings of the larger Kulin nation, activating the blackfella/whitefella dreaming that has been prophesied to bring us into balance and harmony, for the betterment of all.
