This month we welcome Maria Laura Briones aka Chakana, who holds this deep and ancient wisdom within her, expressed effortlessly in her music.

MEET YOUR DJ // CHAkANA
Maria Laura Briones is a multi-instrumentalist passionate about music as a means of healing. Over the last 15 years, she has devoted her life to collecting and learning sacred chants from various cultures around the world. In 2021, she brought to life the Chakana project with the intention of creating "sonic journeys" that allow people to experience the transformative power of music within themselves. These journeys can range from gentle sound meditations to tribal rhythms that invite dancing, connecting individuals with their deepest essence.
Her musical sets are based on a selection of loops and live performances with ethnic instruments aswell as tracks carefully curated by her. Charango, American flutes, Lakota drum, koshi bells, ocarina and rattle are her favorites ones in live set. Maria Laura Briones firmly believes that music is medicine, capable of raising our vibrations and leading us to states of peace while connecting us with our inner selves. Her dedication to music as a healing tool and her passion for sharing this experience with others make Chakana an inspiring presence in the world of music and spirituality.

WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?
Ecstatic dance is a very special container where ALL of you is welcome on the dance floor. Together we ride a musical wave, inviting the raw wisdom of our bodies to guide us.
We Dance to awaken our radical, wild aliveness.
We Dance to move emotion through our bodies.
We Dance as a prayer. We Dance to celebrate.
We Dance to connect.
We Dance because, quite simply, we were born to move this way!!
There are no set moves. There is only you and the pulsating life force that is aching to find its expression through your unique soulful, embodied rhythmicity.
The moment you walk through the doors, you are invited to fully inhabit your body and get moving.
You can expect a variety of music woven together to keep you in
the moment and the movement. From soft and slow to hard and fast, sexy bass beats to classic remixes to sound healing vibes at the very end... the 90 minute journey is a full spectrum soul experience for the body mind and spirit.
