Explore the strip-tease movements and style of the golden era of burlesque. This class teaches the iconic walks, bumps, turns, and other essential elements that defined the legendary burlesque superstars of the golden era. Students will learn insights into burlesque history while breaking down vintage moves step-by-step and discovering ways to personalize them for their own acts. Finally, students will learn a choreographed combination, blending technique and the moves of the classic era.
Perfect for all levels, this class is led by touring burlesque artist and classic burlesque historian Jolie Goodnight. Bring a pair of heels if desired and embrace the allure of the past!
About the Austin Academy of Burlesque:
The Austin Academy of Burlesque is dedicated to the instruction of burlesque performance and history. We teach movement, character development, performance development and fitness in a positive, diverse, and welcoming environment. About Your Instructor:
Jolie Goodnight is an international award winning burlesque singer and singing striptease trailblazer. With more than a decade of experience as a burlesque instructor, Goodnight has taught at the Austin Academy of Burlesque as well as on tour at such iconic places as the New York School of Burlesque and Indigo Blue’s Academy of Burlesque in Seattle. She is a member and producer of the award-winning Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue in Austin, Texas and Les Bijoux Burlesque of Dallas, Texas and is winner of “Audience Choice" and “Best Tease” at the Texas Burlesque Festival as well as Miss Viva Las Vegas Princess.
Students Should Bring:

48-hour Class Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your registration and get a full refund when you contact the Academy more than 48 hours before the start of class. When you contact us with less than 48 hours notice, your fee is not refundable. You may however, transfer your spot to a friend or donate your spot.
A 3 student minimum will be required for a class to take place. In the event a class needs to be canceled due to low attendance, students and will be given 48 hrs notice and will be fully refunded.
