DANCE BABY DANCE is an LA based family dance party.
Founded by Jack & Glenda Murakami Monforte, a husband and wife team who have produced and promoted family friendly events for the past 15 years.
DANCE BABY DANCE is an all inclusive event for parents and children that feature live performers, DJs and dancing at its core, but also incorporate artistic activities such as face painting and arts & crafts.
Jack Monforte is and accomplished DJ, music producer, event curator, and A/V engineer whose career has spanned over thirty years, besides his passion for music and event production, he has also worked as a consultant and post production supervisor, he is truly a man of many skill sets.
During the early 80s Jack was a regular at the Radiotron youth center, a space where local kids could practice breakdancing, graffiti art, and music in a safe environment, around the same time he was also frequenting teen dance clubs and he became enamored with how DJs at these nightclubs could play and manipulate audiences with their musical programming, as much as he loved dancing and creating art, his true love was music and he found his calling by learning how to DJ.
By the age of twenty-two, he had already established himself as an emerging DJ talent in Los Angeles, but due to unforeseen circumstances he relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, where he not only honed his craft as a DJ, but also pioneered the production and curating of electronic music dance parties in the state of Alaska.
Four years later he returned to Los Angeles, where he pivoted, switched gears and pursued a career as a video editor and music producer, which ultimately led to him co-owning an independent dance label.
Jack’s has produced or deejayed events for celebrities, professional athletes, fortune 500 companies, and even embassies from Europe and Latin America, he has also toured nationally for several years for a corporate sponsored family dance party.
His resume is quite impressive, but his humbleness and professionalism have afforded him the opportunity to produce or DJ events with media and corporate clients like:
The NFL Rookie Premiere, HBO, The Autry Museum, The City of Los Angeles, Grand Park, Dodger Stadium, H&M, Initiative Ad Agency, Redbull, Discogs, Allstate insurance, The Surfrider foundation, Ciclavia, Artworx LA, The Goethe institute, Pioneer DJ, NBC, The Esquire Network, Baby Loves Disco, and numerous local non profits and charitable organizations.
Besides his musical accomplishments, his Graffiti art is also featured in magazines and books like URB magazine, The History of Los Angeles Graffitti, and the LA Graffiti black book, which is housed in the permanent library of the Getty Research Institute.
Jack and his wife Glenda Murakami Monforte will be bringing their newest production Dance Baby Dance, to Grand Performances on July 18th, a family friendly event filled with live acts, dancing, great music, and art activities.
