About this Event
Join Roots Music Project for an intimate evening of storytelling and song as three accomplished Colorado songwriters take the stage "In the Round." This special format brings you closer to the creative process, with each artist sharing the stories behind their songs in a relaxed, conversational setting. Experience decades of musical wisdom, hard-won life lessons, and the authentic voices that have shaped Colorado's music scene. From Nashville studios to Boulder stages, these three have lived the songwriter's life—and tonight, they're inviting you into their world.

Dana Kyle Stokes is a professional singer / songwriter whos career has taken him from clubs to concert halls across the nation. His deep rich bass / baritone voice, has been hailed by fellow musicians as the" voice of the century" At this time he has two CD's on the market, which will be availible soon through this web site, and two one hour videos which are not for sale currently.
Dave Boylan has been a fixture on the front range music scene for many years, with songwriting awards from as far away as MerleFest North Carolina and Telluride, to a troubadour win at The Folks Festival in Lyons Colorado. With multiple CDs under his belt, Dave now splits his time between his solo acoustic work and his secret (not so secret) passion – fronting The Springsteen Tribute Band, Thunder Roads.
Raised in Telluride Colorado Steve Koppe has, since 1980, been deeply involved with the Colorado music scene. His first gig at 15 hooked him immediately and he has since made a name as a guitarist, engineer, producer and songwriter. His songwriting has been influenced through mixing thousands of shows at Etown Hall, The Boulder Theater, The Fox Theater and countless venues and festivals in Colorado and around the country. While owning Red Door Studio his songwriting was further influenced while making records for DeVotchka, The Samples, The Motet, The Feds. The Reejers, John McKay, John Sircus and many others. Orphaned and homeless via a plane crash at 12 years old his music reflects the challenges of growing up faster than one should but also reflecting the confidence and joy of making it through those early days and in to a fantastic life of adventure. He continues to live in Boulder and spends time with his daughter and grandchildren in Seattle.
