We are excited to welcome Dan Berggren to the library for a bit of storytelling and music on Thursday, October 30th at 6:30 pm. Dan Berggren is a tradition-based songsmith who writes with honesty, humor and a strong sense of place. His songs explore the many dimensions of home, hard working folks, taking care of our planet and each other. Dan’s roots are firmly in the Adirondacks where he was raised on land that had been in the family for five generations, but his music has branched out across many borders. For over 50 years he has entertained U.S. audiences from New York to Minnesota and Texas, and overseas in Europe and Central Africa. The award-winning musician and educator held various jobs before devoting his life to music full-time: working in the woods with a forest ranger and surveyor; radio producer, writer and announcer for the American Forces Network Europe;and professor of audio and radio studies at SUNY Fredonia. Dan is currently co-hosting Folk Club Kids, a weekly live and live-streamed program for pre-schoolers at Caffe Lena, and owns Sleeping Giant Records which has produced over twenty albums of original and traditional folk music. We hope you will join us in welcoming Dan to the library. Space is limited, please call the library at (518) 668-2528 to register.
