About this Event
A Damascus blank will be provided to each student. Students will forge, profile grind and heat treat their blades followed by grinding and polishing. Students will create a wooden handle before etching the blades to reveal the patterns. The class will finish with assembling the knives and a final sharpening of the blade.
This class uses the paring knife to explore how changes in the thickness and geometry of the blade can improve performance of the knife. Working with the Damascus billets helps illustrate how the material is moving during forging.
A perfect class for someone interested in high performance knives.
Prior experience is helpful but not necessary.
