About this Event
Mark Diner’s career has focused on ensuring the application of digital and data to improve economic, social and environmental outcomes. He has worked in the public service for more than two decades including with the Government of Alberta and Alberta Innovates. Currently Mark is the VP Insights and Strategy with the United Way, Alberta Capital Region. He leads a team dedicated to the strategic transformation of United Way, a key priority for the organization so it can maximize its impact and achieve its mission to ensure no one is left behind.
Mark’s focus the last decade is maximum the return on organization’s data assets; the development of a data framework based on a hierarchy of data needs ©, the flows of data that define complex business systems and data trusts which empower citizens and organizations to take control of their information.
Mark lives in Old Strathcona with his wife, a school principal, his daughter who is attending the UofA, and their old dog, a collie who refuses to learn new tricks. In his spare time, Mark just completed his first novel, an action-packed time travel adventure called “A Collision in Time.”
