Book Talk & Signing with Dakarai Larriett — Don’t Flush!
📅 Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 🕠 5:30–7:00 PM
📍 Ernest & Hadley Booksellers | The Brick House
What would you do if you were arrested for a crime you didn’t commit, despite passing every test and proving your innocence?
In Don’t Flush!, activist and Senate candidate Dakarai Larriett shares the powerful true story of his wrongful arrest in Michigan in April 2024, when he was detained for a suspected DUI despite testing negative and showing no signs of impairment. What followed was a humiliating ordeal that exposed deep cracks in the justice system and ignited his fight for reform.
Through his $10 million lawsuit against the Michigan State Police, a media campaign bolstered by FOIA-released footage, and advocacy for legislative reform; including a Motorist Bill of Rights and the end of qualified immunity, Larriett transformed personal trauma into a public mission for accountability.
Don’t Flush! is more than a memoir. It’s a call to action. Whether you’re an ally, advocate, or simply curious about how change happens, Larriett’s story challenges us all to do more, speak louder, and demand better.
Join us for an evening of truth-telling as Dakarai Larriett discusses his journey and the movement behind Don’t Flush!
