- to run a very unusual fun run
- to set a time on my local 10k effort loop for me to chase for years to come
This will be a real grass roots, old school run. By that I mean, race numbers drawn on with a sharpie, directions marked with chalk or flour, no road marshalling or road closures, no course GPX file beforehand.
This will be a road race but definitely some strong trail vibes in there.
I've chosen some really quiet country roads but people still live on them so proceed with care and assume any blind corners are not safe (traffic rates are very low but not 0)
Entry is a $20 cash donation on the day and there will be a BBQ available at the finish line for a gold coin donation (chocolate milk for $5). I will have some vegan sausages but if you would like a chocolate almond milk ready to go please DM me.
Meet at the Mylor Oval but then car pool to the start/finish line from there.
The course goes up a bit, down a bit, up a bit more, then down for a while before one last little bump then down to the finish line.
This race will have a roving start!
There will be 3 starting waves High Noon, 12:30pm and 1:00pm to cater for a range of speeds but the finishing cut off is 2:15pm! The car convoy will leave Mylor oval 20 minutes before the start of each wave - the only toilets available are at the oval.
If you think you might need more than 75 minutes to run the 10k then simply start in one of the earlier waves and give anyone who passes you a cheer :-)
If you want to walk it then go for it! Just be finished by 2:15pm :-) anytime after 11:30 am I am sure I will be around setting things up to note starting times and mark down you are on the course.
