80th D-Day Anniversary Celebrations happening over the 8-9 June on the historic former WWII airfield HMS Daedalus, Lee on the Solent, Hampshire; which is a significant place in the part of the 80th anniversary as is was the single busiest airfield on D-Day with 435 sorties. A family event for all to enjoy with a living history area for re-enactors to attend for the public to come, see and learn about WWII military equipment, services and it’s history, there will also be Static Aircraft, Air Display with part portraying the history of the airfield including a Parachute Drop, Music, Field Gun Runs, Marching Bands, Funfair, Motorcycles Stunts, Period Vehicles and an Emporium. Each day will be slightly different with its attractions.
The event tickets details will be announced soon. This event is being delivered on behalf of Fareham Borough Council with the support from Montserrat Events CIC, the team that brought you the Lee Victory Festival.
For re-enactors attending there will be the provision of showers and toilets; there will be food vendors & bars as part of the event offering.
