Teaming up with the ever brilliant Hive Mind Records, we are bringing you some unbelievable desert blues just when the January blues might start to set in! Forget the freezing cold, here’s some Saharan sun, some irrisitible Moroccan trance grooves, stunning singing and lilting Maghreb guitars!!We know this is only a week after New Year, but this was such a rare opportunity to get genuine Saharan musicians over, we realised this band are just TOO GOOD to pass up on!! Not only that, the family of Kassia Zermon (one of our directors) is from a town 20 miles up the road from them so we were naturally drawn to them!
These guys are the real deal – a musical collective born in the heart of the southern Moroccan Sahara, in the town of Tagounite, along the ancient Draa Valley. They bring together musicians from diverse cultural and tribal backgrounds- Amazigh, Sahrawi, and Arab – united by a shared desire to revive ancestral rhythms and reimagine them through a modern lens. Live they are full of energy, emotional power, and ceremonial qualities, transforming each show into a collective ritual of connection and rhythm.
