Step back in time to the days of Wartime and hear about what life was like on the British Homefront. You will learn about local Rationing, The Dig for Victory Campaign, The Blitz, Ladies and their new duties, Evacuation, The US Army, German Spies, The AA Guns at the Red Noses, The Maunsell Forts in the River Mersey, War Dances at the Tower Ballroom & So Much More
You will be visiting all the old sites and shown photographs on how changes have ocurred from then to now. We will also be covering WW2 and what life was like on the Homefront.
In Memorial and Celebration of D-Day80 we will be chatting about the connections with Normandy and New Brighton. Our Historian will also give you a brief outline of Operation Overlord and the Allied Assault in Normandy
Pop in for a Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate before the Tour starts or a bite to eat. We can also reserve a table for after the Tour finishes where further talks on history will continue with our Historian & Author. Aunty Mo’s Wartime Scouse is available on the Menu or Cream Scones and Jam.
