Dům bez východu se zabývá tématem důstojného bydlení pro rodiny v nouzi. Lidé obývající nájemní byty v brněnské „Kuncovce“ chtěli teplou vodu, elektřinu a férové jednání. Od majitele, který podle vlastních slov „nemá rád barevný“, se místo toho dočkali šikany a vyhrožování. Policie ani město jim nepomohly. Kvůli boji za svá práva proto spojili síly s aktivisty a právníky. Tomáš Hlaváček sleduje tento spor jako angažovaný pozorovatel a odkrývá realitu extrémní chudoby, nerovnosti a bezmoci, ve které se obhajoba vlastních práv stává existenčním rizikem.

Jedním z klíčových tematických průsečíků filmu a činnosti Iniciativy nájemníků a nájemnic je řetězení krátkodobých nájemních smluv. Tato praxe systematicky podkopává jistoty v bydlení a oslabuje práva nájemnictva. 🎬 The Impossibility: Movie, discussion, and organizing for the right to housing

We invite you to a screening of the documentary film The Impossibility by director Tomáš Hlaváček, followed by a meeting with the Tenants' Initiative. The movie will be screened with English subtitles.

The film is a loose sequel to the time-lapse documentary Housing Against Everyone and depicts the months-long conflict between the residents of rental apartments in Brno's "Kuncovka" neighborhood and the building's owner. The tenants fought for basic living conditions—hot water, electricity, and fair treatment. Instead, they faced harassment, threats, and complete inaction on the part of the police and the city.
Hlaváček follows this dispute as an engaged observer and reveals the reality of extreme poverty, inequality, and powerlessness, in which defending one's own rights becomes an existential risk.

One of the key thematic intersections of the movie and the activities of the Tenants' Initiative is the repetead short-term rental contracts. This practice systematically undermines housing security and weakens tenants' rights. The residents of Kuncovka are a concrete example of people exposed to crooked practices and "hopeless" solutions to housing emergencies.
