Join us for our vibrant and heartfelt 10th annual Day of the Dead/ Día de los Muertos Community celebration! The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a Mexican time-honored tradition that brings families and friends together to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away.
Unlike the somber tone that often accompanies Western notions of death, Día de los Muertos is a festive and joyous occasion, filled with color, music, and a profound sense of familial connection.
This special event will be held on Nuestras Raices Centro Comunitario, located at 1214 E Sprague Ave, in Spokane, Washington, from 1 pm to 8 pm on Nov, 2.
You are also invited to come to see the ofrendas and Catrinas’ display at our center for First Friday, on Nov.1, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm!
Our event will feature an array of activities and festivities, including:
- Colorful Offerings (Ofrendas): Witness the beautiful ofrendas decorated with photos, marigolds, candles, dead bread and favorite foods of the departed.
- Face Painting: Get your face painted with traditional sugar skull designs.
- Live Music and Performances: Enjoy live performances of traditional music and dance that capture the spirit of the celebration. Mariachi, Ballet folklorico, Danza Azteca, and more.
- Kids’ Activities for the little ones, including crafts and piñatas.
- Food and Craft Vendors: Savor delicious food and beverages that are integral to the Day of the Dead celebrations, brough it by our Hispanic and Latino local businesses.
- A Hispanic Business Fair by our Exito Centro de Negocios

This event is open to everyone, and we encourage you to bring your family and friends to experience this beautiful cultural tradition.

Pintura facial: Pinta tu cara con diseños tradicionales y de calaveras.
Música y presentaciones en vivo: disfrute de presentaciones en vivo de música y danza tradicionales que capturan el espíritu de la celebración. Mariachi, Ballet folklórico, Danza Azteca y más.
Actividades infantiles para los más pequeños, que incluyen manualidades y piñatas.
Vendedores de alimentos y artesanías: saboree deliciosas comidas y bebidas que son parte integral de las celebraciones del Día de los Muertos, ofrecidas por nuestros negocios locales hispanos y latinos.
