Learn how to make Czech Kolache with Gina at the Flour Pot Kitchen Classroom in De Pere, WICzech kolace, also spelled kolache and kolachy are yeast-risen rounds of dough topped with fruit filling, cheese and/or streusel and baked.
Students will be instructed in how to mix the yeast-based pastry dough. Because the first rising of the dough takes about an hour, Gina will share the techniques for making the fillings and toppings.
When the dough has risen, dough will be formed into rounds, filled, and baked.
Flavors include apricot, poppy seed, cherry, blueberry, raspberry, cream cheese, apple, or prune.
Once baked and cooled each student will take home 6 Kolache. The fee covers all materials, recipes and instruction.
Class will conclude with sampling the product. All ingredients are supplied. Recipes will be shared.
