Friends, neighbors, and tree-lovers near and far, you are invited to celebrate the autumnal tree planting holiday of Colma, Arboretum Day! This free and fun event for the whole family will take place on the main entry lawn of our foundational East Campus, right in front of the historic Noble Chapel. Please join us for a day of tree education (and celebration!) of our diverse living collection of plants, 132 years in growing and ever branching out.Events and activities for the day will include the following:
11AM – “Speaking for the Trees” Annual Arboretum Address with Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz (Hosted at Noble Chapel)
12 NOON – 1:30 PM – “Plant Passport” tree learning stations open, featuring the following Arboretum Allies:
“Pruning as Process” with Christopher Campbell Tree Design
“Climbing with Care” with Byron Yeager, Conscious Canopy
“Homes for Many Beings” with Merlin Arborist Group
“The Story of Old Hespero” with Josh Gevertz, Arboretum Director
“A Foundation of Heritage” with Nick Woodworth, Quest for Cool
1PM onwards – Complimentary lunch hosted by Dulzura Cafe
(with voucher from completed “Plant Passport”)
1:30 PM – 3 PM – Live music featuring the talents of BanjerDan! Plus lawn games and family-friendly tree fun and activities
3 PM – 3:30 PM – Celebratory tree planting to commemorate the 5th annual holiday of Arboretum Day, by the original entry archway
