About this Event
On SATURDAY, November 8, from 10 AM–1 PM, artist Cynthia Talmadge and Art Production Fund (APF) will host a free, public, all-ages interactive art-making workshop at Rockefeller Center as part of the Art Sundae program. Inspired by Talmadge’s practice, children will have the opportunity to make an artwork and have their piece displayed at Rockefeller Center as part of a public art exhibition.
Two sessions will take place 10AM–11:30AM and 11:30AM–1PM, and participants can come and go throughout their session. Registration is for participating children only. The workshop will be located outside 10 Rockefeller Plaza, at the South Plaza between 48th and 49th street. Enter at 48th Street.
This Art Sundae workshop coincides with the arrival of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree! Celebrate the arrival of the world’s most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. Join us on November 8 for a new annual tradition filled with family fun, festive crafts, and special guests including Snoopy.
Art Sundae is an ongoing public program presented by APF that provides children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view. Art Sundae was started in 2017 by APF and Fort Gansevoort.
This Art Sundae workshop is generously supported by Leatherology.
