We are planning a wonderful time to celebrate the end of a glorious reign and the beginning of a new one. Summer Investiture for the Principality of Cynagua will be held on July 12, 2025 at the Historic St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City, NV.Carson City is nestled against the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada. The State Capital of Nevada, Carson City has lots of Old West history. Even its name is after the Carson river, named for the scout that brought John C. Fremont through the Sierras. The site, St. Peter's Episcopal, was built in 1868 and sets on an acre lot that shares its block with the original Governor's residence (built 1862), now the rectory. We have use of the whole property, so please be respectful of these historic buildings and remember our main idea "to leave a site cleaner than we found it".
Some things you might be wondering:
-Average temperatures for July - 90º F/62º F (for comparison Reno is 95ºF / 64º F and Sacramento 95º F/62º F.
- Handicap parking/ access - If you have a handicap placard, you will have a reserved area on the North side of the church, close to the accessible entry. We are working with the city to set up reserved Handicap parking on that north side.
- Pets are not allowed on site. Service Animals only.
Nevada Law - In addition to guide dogs (seeing-eye dogs) and hearing dogs, examples of service animals that must be allowed into public accommodations under the ADA include:
- psychiatric service animals,
-seizure alert animals,
- allergen alert animals,
- Other examples of work or tasks a service animal might do include retrieving items like medicine or the telephone or providing physical support and assistance with balance for someone with mobility disabilities.
- Please be respectful to those who need these animals. They are working. Any animal that does not show the training of a service animal (there are signs), will be asked to leave and their human will not be allowed a refund.
- Loading and unloading will be on the West side of the building should it be required, as parking is all around the Church property. Please be polite to your friends by parking with room to maneuver, but not too much and pay attention to signs.
Carson City has several Hotels or if staying through Sunday, check out the deals for the Reno Hotels. We will be working on getting more information about this in the next few months.
