About this Event
All Cycling UK members are invited to attend the Cycling UK in Scotland Annual Gathering on Saturday 5 October at Augustin United Church Hall in Edinburgh. We'd also love to welcome non-members that would like to know more about Cycling UK!
There will be an optional led ride in the morning before the gathering, followed by a series of inspiring and informative talks, including:
- Journalist and writer Laura Laker. Specialising in cycling and urban transport, Laura's new book Potholes and Pavements is a personal quest to investigate the state of Britain's cycling, by riding the National Cycle Network
- Endurance mountain bike rider Naomi Freireich, who has finished as first solo female at the British 24 Hour Championships and Strathpuffer, and set fastest known times on the West Highland Way and John Muir Way
- Gravel Rides Scotland author Ed Shoote on bikepacking with kids
- Cycling UK's new five-year strategy by director of external affairs Sarah McMonagle
- Update on the Drem-Gullane Path Campaign by Iain Monk
- Updates on Cycling UK's life-changing community based projects, and campaigns and policy work, with Suzanne Forup, Freda Whittaker and Scott Runciman.
Tea and coffee will be available from 10.30am, with the event starting at 11am.
A free lunch will be provided.
