About this Event
This event is run in conjunction with Maidstone Grammar School for Girls and the Institute of Cyber Security for Society (University of Kent) and Maidstone and Kent Computing Hub.
This is the launch event for the competition for female students in year 8 hosted at Maidstone Grammar School for Girls.
This engaging, informative workshop will introduce and prepare students for the various activities in the competition and aims to ignite interest and engage students with computing and the world of cyber security. Students will have the opportunity to meet experts from University of Kent and Interrupt Labs and find out what it's like to work in cyber security.
We will be introducing girls to the Cyberfirst competition, hearing from a female guest speaker who works in the cyber security industry about what it's like and why it's important, and running some activities to help prepare them for the competition.
This event is for students and for them to be accompanied by their teacher(s).
