About this Event
Cyber Mission Readiness in the Age of AI is a live, in-person symposium that will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Researchers and engineers from the CERT division of the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Software Engineering Institute (SEI) will explore the meaning of CMR today when AI is impacting everything.
Participants will expand their understanding of current challenges, trends and emerging solutions to CMR challenges in the age of AI and enjoy an engaging day of learning about CMR capabilities that are both meeting the needs of government and military leaders today and evolving to address tomorrow's realities. The SEI will demonstrate emerging solutions for:
- building cyber capacity and sharing threat information
- motivating performance using cyber challenge competitions
- developing individual skill mastery using guided self-assessment and targeted skill labs forging elite teams for winning the cognitive fight
- forging elite teams for winning the cognitive fight
Come to this symposium for an experience that will challenge your assumptions and redefine what it means to be mission-ready in the age of AI. Bring your laptop and your CAC/PIV identity card to participate in hands-on portions of each session. Gain knowledge of SEI's open-source cyber mission readiness solutions that are in use today across the federal government and military – both on-premises and in the cloud:
- Crucible: an open-source software application framework for improving CMR which integrates learning management, cyber team exercises, cyber challenge competitions, cyber threat information sharing, and collaboration as well as leveraging AI models to accelerate cyber capacity building
- Fortress: an SEI-hosted, on-premises, Crucible-instance featuring CAC/PIV authentication, auto-account-registration, and CMMC L2 certification
The symposium will feature opportunities to network with each other and joining an SEI-sponsored network of CMR professionals.
While this symposium is open to all, priority will be given to U.S. Government Agencies, U.S. Military, and their contractors.
