Four influential community leaders will share practical ways we can fight back against the rightwing takeover of our media:
Carrie Seidman: Award-winning journalist and highly acclaimed opinion columnist, Seidman will share her thoughts on ways that attendees can most effectively use the media to fight back against dis- and misinformation.
Yoleidy Rosario Hernandez: Former Chief Diversity Officer at New College of Florida and interdisciplinary artist, educator, and diversity consultant with extensive experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within higher education and community organizing. Rosario Hernandez will share zir extensive knowledge about Project 2025, as well as lessons learned from zir time at New College of Florida.
Zander Moricz: Founder and Executive Director of SEE Alliance, Zander has given two famous viral speeches; his graduation speech in which he used his curly hair as a metaphor for his queerness and his address to Bridget Ziegler. Zander will discuss how to take the narrative back, as well as data-backed lessons learned and tools we can use to change minds.
Kay Mathers: Experienced Political, Program, and Operations Director with extensive expertise in political strategy, nonprofit leadership, and communications. Kay will share her knowledge of how extremists used micro-targeting in this past election, and ways we can use the algorithms to our advantages.
