About this Event
This is an introduction to copper jewelry and art projects. From bracelets to weathervanes, copper is an attractive material for the artist.
Learn to use a jeweler's saw for fine cuts, and shears and snips for more significant cuts. Use a punch to make holes for rivets, and then insert and set copper rivets.
Discover the art of soldering as a means to bond copper sheets and bridge gaps. However, it's crucial to understand the significance of surface cleaning, flux application, and solder application. You'll also learn the techniques of wick soldering and sweat soldering.
Learn the basics so you can experiment on your own and become an amateur coppersmith.
This is a small class, with only 4 students per class. It is the first in a planned series of copper-working classes.
