About this Event
CUSP at Petrichor Collective is a salon style gathering for visual Artists to share work, dialogue and constructive feedback in an effort to aid in progression/growth of the visual process.
The name, CUSP, reflects the moment in the creative process when an Artist hesitates at a threshold, perhaps needing feedback in order to see new possibilities emerge.
It will be moderated by Erin Leon, who is a printmaker, curator and educator in Loveland, Colorado. Erin’s work explores intaglio, drypoint, woodcut and silkscreen printmaking methods. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Maine College of Art and began her studies under classical instruction at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in New York City, Maine, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, South Korea, and Japan. Using her knowledge of art history, Erin hopes to help Artists reflect on their work as a part of this historic timeline ~ referencing Artists, genres, methods, designs and materials. A former co-op member of HighPoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Pickwick Press in Portland,Maine, Erin is now collaborating with Petrichor Gallery in Fort Collins, Colorado.
This is an opportunity to:
- Present your work to a group of peers and a respected Artist in the field
- Gain valuable insights to strengthen your practice
- Engage in thoughtful dialogue and connect with fellow Artists
- Find inspiration from a diverse set of Artist proficencies and mediums
How It Works
While we approach the evening with intention and respect for the creative process, the salon is also meant to be enjoyable. A space to learn, exchange ideas, and celebrate one another’s work. It’s a thoughtful yet lively gathering that uplifts Artists and strengthens our community through conversation and camaraderie.
Participants will begin by viewing a curated selection of a featured Artists’ work, taking time to reflect, note impressions, and consider points of dialogue.
The first of the two presenting Artists will then share one to three pieces, offering a concise introduction to the ideas, context, and intentions behind their work.
Our moderator, Erin Leon, will guide the exchange, shaping the conversation, providing professional insights, and creating space for thoughtful feedback from the group.
Participants will then turn their attention to the second presenting Artist, once again engaging in careful observation and reflection before entering into a guided conversation.
Following a brief introduction from the Artist, Erin will continue to direct the discussion, fostering meaningful exchange and layered conversation.
The evening will conclude with Collective reflection and an open time, allowing for deeper connections and shared perspectives.
