Currents of Care: Community Creation Day
đź“… October 11, 2025
📍 Renton Public Library
Join us for the first gathering of Currents of Care, a community-driven public art project honoring the Cedar River. This hands-on event invites you to connect with the river, reflect on its cultural and ecological significance, and contribute directly to the creation of a mobile mural.
What to Expect:
- Welcome & Opening – Gather as a community and set intentions for the day.
- Water as Life Talk – Learn about the Cedar River’s role in local ecology and Indigenous heritage.
- Artists’ Reflections – Hear from the mural artists about their vision and how your contributions will be included.
- River Walk & Ceremony – Take a guided walk along the river. Observe, take notes or photos, and reflect on its meaning. Together we will honor the river as a source of life and inspiration.
- Creative Workshop – Translate your experience into art! Write a poem, craft a song, sketch, draw, or paint. All materials will be provided, and no prior art experience is required.
- Community Sharing – Share your creations and reflections with the group. These contributions will inspire and shape the final mural design.
✨ This event is free and open to all ages. Come ready to walk, reflect, and create in community. Your voice and vision are part of the story of the Cedar River.
