About this Event
Join us for a fun, social introduction to the Olympic sport of curling at 9 Mile! Using iceless curling rinks and stones that actually curl like the real deal, you can learn about curling and play a few games. We'll teach about scoring, strategy and all the quirky curling lingo—including why it’s called “chess on ice.”
Most of the time will be spent actually curling - indoors on portable rinks (no need to get cold and no risk of falling down). There will be plenty of time for broomstacking (a.k.a. socializing, eating and drinking) with fellow attendees. When our local Minnesota curlers compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics, you can watch with a whole new perspective.
This event is family-friendly and physically very accessible - participants can curl from a crouch or standing position and there is no running/sweeping.
The session is led by local curler Jill Aitchison, owner of Curling Connections.
Come experience one of the most welcoming, social sports around!
Curling + great beverages + great food + great community = a great time!
