About this Event
Interested in celebrating and preserving Newcastle’s LGBTQIA+ heritage for future generations?
Join Curious Arts at the Great North Museum for our “Curious Histories” heritage afternoon as we explore our communities’ history through archiving and zine making. Centering LGBTQIA+ voices and stories to ensure our experiences are represented for years to come.
Drop-in and bring along an object with significance to you/your LGBTQIA+ experience to add to our archive…
It could be a photograph at an event, an outfit which allowed you to feel your true self or a token or accessory that helps you feel safe or seen wherever you are.
We ask that these objects are no larger than size A3.
Our Curious Artists will also be running a low-pressure zine workshop you can take part in on the day, to capture even more of Newcastle’s vibrant LGBTQIA+ heritage.
Snacks and refrshments will be available.
Come along, share your story, and contribute to an ongoing collection of contemporary LGBTQIA+ life in the North East.
Free, booking required.
