The presentation will highlight various approaches within this vibrant and dynamic design landscape, including designers who draw inspiration from cultural heritage, prioritize technological innovations, and champion artisanal solutions focusing on local contexts. These diverse paths underscore the richness and vitality of Mexico's current design scene.
Mallet Cárdenas is a curator whose interest in museums lies in the fact that she considers them places to learn and reflect on different realities. As a counselor, advisor, deputy director, coordinator, head of conservation and other positions, she has worked in some of the most important cultural spaces in the country: University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC), Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art, Carrillo Gil Art Museum, Soumaya Museum, University Museum of Sciences and Arts (MUCA), Casa del Lago, University Cultural Center of the University of Guadalajara and Museum of the Object of the Object (MODO). At the international level, she is a member of the Architecture and Design Acquisitions Committee of the MoMA (New York) and has collaborated with museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
