About this Event
The Soul Food Gala is CUNY BLSA's annual fundraising event that raises money for the six (6) grants that will be given to students during the summer for their internships and bar-study. These grants are the Racial Justice Grant for leadership in the Black community, the Humanitarian Grant for service within the Black immigrant community, the Mental Wellness Grant, the Housing Grant for out-of-state students, and the Bar Grant for graduates sitting for the July bar exam. Additionally, we are proud to introduce the W.G. Enoch Scholarship, which uplifts nontraditional students entering or returning to the legal profession.
During this gala we also want to recognize the success and achievement of students, faculty members, alumni, and professional partners who have helped to make our work and impact in the community successful. This Gala also provides a networking opportunity for students to meet alumni and our professional partners for future internships, externships, or job opportunities.
Lastly, the Gala is the unveiling of our executive board elections! We will be excited to introduce the new CUNY BLSA leadership during this time!
