Step inside Civic Trust House this Culture Night for a glimpse behind the scenes of a creative process in motion. This open rehearsal, led by Strive Theatre and director Ciarain MacArtain, is part of a new project exploring the layered history of the house and the people who may have passed through it over the past three centuries. You’ll encounter fragments of work in progress of short monologues drawn from historical research and imaginative storytelling performed by actors in a relaxed, informal setting. Some pieces are polished, others still taking shape. You might see lines being rewritten, scenes discussed, or characters brought to life for the very first time. Drop in, listen, and stay as long or as briefly as you like.
This is a unique opportunity to witness not just the stories themselves, but the collaborative craft of interpreting and refining them. As this is a working rehearsal, we kindly ask all visitors to respect the focus of the performers. While you are free to come and go, please do so quietly to help maintain a supportive atmosphere.
Whether you’re drawn by theatre, history, or curiosity, you’re warmly welcome to share in this moment of creative discovery.
