Culture Mix: Indigenous Weaving Workshop - Wollongong Library

Learn to weave a basket with Wandi Wandian woman, Amethyst Downing-McLeod.

Amethyst Downing-McLeod was born on Wurundjerri country (Melbourne), grew up on Dja Dja Wurrung country (Central Victoria) and currently lives on Dharawal Country, one of the many lands that traditionally make up the South Coast NSW. Amethyst is a First Nations multidisciplinary creative that works with many mediums and methods. She uses a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques taught to her by elders and knowledge holders within her kin.
