About the Artists

Murielle Elizéon, Culture Mill Co-Founder/Director (she/her) is a French dancer, performer, choreographer and teacher. She grew up in Southern France and studied Italian Literature and Dance Aesthetics while completing her dance training. She began her professional dance career in Paris in 1995. As a dancer/performer/choreographer, she has toured her own work and with various dance companies across Europe. As a movement artist, she is interested in the ever-evolving condition of the body and the complexity of human experience, as well as in the creation of diverse temporary communities. She is a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic teacher, having taught for 20 years in across Europe and the US for a diverse public. Murielle has also danced, taught, and performed Argentine Tango for more than 10 years, using the form as a tool to access clarity of intention, body awareness, communication and connection to others.

Tommy Noonan, Culture Mill Co-Founder/Director (he/him) is a director, choreographer, writer, performer, and organizer based in Saxapahaw, NC. His trans-disciplinary performances have been presented extensively throughout the US, Germany, France, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Norway, and Mexico. His work engages rich and complex dynamics of power, belonging, and ambivalence that arise in the situation of performance itself. Drawing on a range of practices such as contemporary dance, theater, sound installation, somatics, and community facilitation, Tommy’s work circles around the felt sense of an embodied encounter in a specific place and the questions about commonality and difference that result. Tommy has toured smaller creations, his research and work in public space performance have appeared in the Guidebook of Alternative Nows, and his writings on collectivity and organizing have appeared in Fries Theater Journal (Austria), Revisita Obscena (Portugal), and The Performance Journal (NYC).
