About this Event

Ana Harvey, CEO of Dupont Underground, the nonprofit arts organization in the defunct streetcar station under Dupont Circle, will be the featured speaker at The Georgetowner’s April 25 cultural breakfast.

Dupont Underground’s public programming began in the spring of 2016 with “Raise/Raze,” a repurposing of more than 650,000 plastic balls from “The Beach,” an installation at the National Building Museum. At the April 25 breakfast, Harvey will talk about the post-lockdown revival of activity at the subterranean venue and Dupont Underground’s renewed vision: “to showcase D.C.’s cultural identity, connect local and international arts communities and amplify the voice of BIPOC, independent and upcoming talent in the District.”

Prior to becoming CEO in 2021, Harvey advised government agencies and nonprofits on strategy and operations as president and CEO of HarveyHudson Group. Earlier, she served as president and CEO of the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, assistant administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and director of the District of Columbia Department of Small and Local Business Development.

Gates open at Evermay at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, for a buffet breakfast; the program will follow from 9 to 10 a.m. Parking is available, but attendees are encouraged to use ride-share apps or public transportation (Metrorail to Dupont Circle or D2 Metrobus).
