About this Event
In keeping with our aim to be as sustainable as environmentally friendly as possible we are making a wall hanging from natural materials. The feathers are made from wool fabric remnants, the beads are wooden, the string is jute and the holder is a twig from a tree.
There will be a small amount of stitching and/or gluing involved and some tying of knots. Those of you with small craft power tools may wish to drill holes in the wood – this is up to you. You may also wish to gather some foliage or flowers and dry these to further decorate the wall hanging Standard craft tools, scissors, rulers, glue, needle and thread may all be needed.
Materials required:
Feather x 6 – pieces of woollen material, each piece 3” wide x 7” long
Jute string – 3 yards
Beads – 2 large beads to add to the ends of the stick, then 1 bead per feather – you can add more if you wish.
Stick/twig – a 20 cm long straight stick to hang everything from.
