Cultivating Collaboration on Rented Farmland

Attention farmers and agricultural landowners!

This event aims to support both farmers who rent farmland and their landowners. By working together, we can have sustainable win-wins for farmland.

Renting can be tough. High rental costs and not knowing if you can stay long-term can make it hard for farmers to make investments for long-term environmental and economic sustainability. Landowners may also worry about letting others manage their property. In our area, more and more farmland is being rented, so it's important to solve these issues. Join us for some practical ideas based on real farm experience.

Bruce Kelly from Farm and Foodcare Ontario will deliver a presentation on tools and strategies that both landowners and tenant farmers can use to build effective, long-term and trusting relationships. A long-term management plan is essential for soil health, benefiting farmers, landowners and the natural environment.

Melisa Luymes of Headlands Ag-Enviro-Solutions will lead a panel featuring three local farmers and landowners. They will share their experiences, challenges and lessons learned from their respective roles, providing practical insights for all attendees.
